i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
it's less that ordinary and that's for sure

"There's gonna be peace in the valley, tomorrow, `cause tonight she's gonna blow it all away. Lord, she feels so twisted, she ain't ever gonna fix it. She's just waiting for the light to shine on a brand new day." ~ i don't remember exactly who sang this one but it is on the soundtrack for the movie A Life Less Ordinary and really good. i feel like i somehow stepped into a pond to find a three mile drop off a foot from the shore. There is some serious undertow here. From what i gather i am a bad influence and it's all my fault from one point of view and the other is that i am a good friend who encourages someone to be honest about who and what they are. My last thought is that everyone is entitled to, at the very least, one friend who will believe them and BE BIASED. i'm not saying stupid here, but biased and dislike who they dislike and feel the hurts they feel and just hear one side. Well, fine, 'stupid' then, if you like. My Dad once told me that there are always four sides to any story. i was interested. Four? i was told there are three. He said, no, four. At least four. How so? Well, there is one person's side, the other person's side, the side people see, and the reality of it all. i see. i see about 50%.

Last night was fun. Roni and i went to Crystal's Pizza Palace and played for an hour and a half until Naomi and Sprout got there and they we all played together. They impressed me by fixing most of the games and having the tickets in them for a change! i kicked some serious ass at the basket ball game and then challenge Naomi to a game of air hockey and we had a great time as i beat her by one point. Later she had a re-match and i think she won . . . we're both very competitive and pretty good at it. The kids played for a while and then Roni went and flirted with this one girl that works there when she ran out of tokens so the next thing we know, she is at the basket ball game standing in the trough playing with a candy cane and about $5 in sticky tokens. And a free ice cream cone. She is something . . . what i'm not sure, but she is SOMETHING! Then, Sprout saw the ice-cream and so i had to rush and buy him a cone, too. He is a great sport and such a wonderful kid! i even got a hug from him! See, Sprout just doesn't go for all that mushy stuff and i got a hug! That means i'm special! : )

i need to get a new curtain rod for my shower. Every morning, when i wake up, it is on the floor. i find this irritating because i really don't deal well with light and keep tripping on it. There is a small, red nightlight in the bathroom, but as i said, i don't deal well with light in the morning, so i rarely open my eyes. Yes, my bathroom in a red-light district. And yes, i get dressed in the dark. i usually pick out clothes the night before and they are lying there all night, taunting me when i can't sleep. Sometimes i wake up and talk to them or i could just be dreaming because they have talked back a time or two. i sometimes have trouble with reality when i'm sleepy.

Pride comes before a fall and i may have just fell flat on my face. and oowww! it hurt. At least no one is encroaching upon my desk. That really sucks, man. Nothing like a nice kick in the pants to make you feel more welcome than you did before. Stupid crappy people! See, i TOLD you it's never good to chop off your nose, but i guess THEY didn't get the memo.
