i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

"The DJs will play this cause it's on their playlist!"

"i said i wanna touch the earth, i wanna break it in my hands, i wanna grow something wild and unruly . . . "
Today we have slept in, bathed, dressed, eaten small, snacky things when we were hungry and played outside. Roni rode her bike for the first time in forever, and i remember the Christmas that we bought it.

"i wanna walk and not run, i wanna skip and not fall, i wanna look at the horizon and not see a building standing tall . . . "
It was our last Christmas together as a family and it was really pretty good. We found Roni a huge country cottage kitchen like she wanted and her first bike. i finally had to think up some thing for Chip-head to do to get him out of the way while Dad and i put them both together . . . it was so cute and endearing how inept he was with anything that had to do with tools! i was actually a little disappointed when he went to school for AC/Heat repair. Now he installs security systems. Wow. What a few long years can do.

"i wanna be the only one, for miles and miles, except for maybe you, and your simple smile . . . "
We have mamboed with the evil hoards of Barbies Mom keeps buying for Roni to the happy sounds of Lou Bega (don't get ill, i promise you, he has about four or five songs on that CD that totally redeem him. i actually LOVE "Baby, Keep Smiling", it is so great a song!) Right now we are crooning and howling to the Dixie Chicks! Roni goes more for the Bubble-gum Pop, Rap, R&B, etc . . . stuff i just don't really like much as a whole. i *DO* listen to it and i do have favorites but . . . i just like my stuff better. There are some that we agree on like Bega, the Dixie Chicks, Prodigy, The Beastie Boys, They Might Be Giants, Train, and all My Boys . . . and some like Brittany and company that i would be happier without.

While we were out in the yard, i had to raise the seat on her bike about 2" and it struck me as kinda sad that we spend so much time inside.

i took out my contacts last night and put on my glasses, dug out my sloppy clothes, washed all my makeup off and we breathed REAL air for a while. It reminds me of how much i loved my bike when i was younger. Now it sits in the garage here with flat tires since i don't use it anymore. i used to ride everywhere . . . or just pedal nowhere as fast as i could until my legs were twitching and my lungs were burning. Like i could ride away from my problems or something. i loved going to the trails and hiding back in there where no one could find you until i realized that no one would find your body, either. It somehow lost it's happiness due to some unsavory guy groups that hung out there a lot and they scared me.

i really need to get new tires for that thing. And Roni needs a new bike, too, her's will be too small really soon and she need to have the training wheels off, too, but she is too wimpy to let me pull them yet.

"Some days you gotta dance
Live it up when you get the chance
Cuz when the world
Doesn't make no sense
And you're feelin
Just a little too tense
Gotta loosen up those chains
And dance
"
