i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
There's no tomorrow like today

Saturday, Sunday . . . i have to tell you about Saturday and Sunday. My back hurts `cause i slept badly on it or something. i'm hungry. My head is buzzing with the empty-hollow-hurt-buzz like wasps. i want to go back to sleep. AND ~ i'm STILL in a pretty good mood!

Saturday was pretty lazy and boring until we left to go to Naomi's party. The drive was fun as we were cheesing out to oldies and being silly. We got to the party only 30 minutes late and there was a great turn out! Naomi's very elusive antisocial but charmingly odd brother even showed up! He's really pretty cool and when he is feeling sociable, he can be a lot of fun ~ we played show-me-yours-i'll-show-you-mine with our CD collections and did DJ duties since people were snippy about the Eagles DVD . . . i liked it, but hey, i love the Eagles. The whole house smelled like fish since it was a sushi thing they were going for and then Todd (Naomi's bro-in-law) and i went to the store for dessert and came back with 3 kinds of ice cream and a cheesecake. Hehehe! Don't send hungry people to the store for food! It was Cookies and Cream, Caramel Caribou, and Mocho Chocko Chunk . . . YUM! We had fun and a good time was had by all, even though we missed our heroes who had a trip to Tyler and a trip to the porcelain shrine planned for the weekend.

Sunday was also pretty lazy. i dropped Roni off at my mom's, asleep, at 6:30am and went to work. i worked and stuff and whatever until the four Motrin i took for my back wore off and i just didn't want to be here with The Most Irritating Man In The World any longer. That and O.Penguin asked me if i wanted to go see Hannibal. Well, duh. i was so excited about going to see it i had to change my pants!

i LOVED Silence of the Lambs and i have been anxiously waiting for this sequel. i love Dr Lector, the character and i don't care if that sounds sick. He is a genius. He is much more honest and doesn't take shit from anyone. He is a genius. He has taste and refinement, and he does not tolerate bad manners. He is a genius. He has an excellent sense of timing and drama and a wicked sense of humor. Did i mention that he is a genius? I loved the movie and was thrilled that it was essentially a love story in a warped sort of way. They are quite worthy opponents and strange allies and the choices they have to make are awesome. i wanna see it 10 more times. They promised gore and definitely deliver on that but in ways you can't imagine so if you have a weak stomach, don't go see it. For me, the only part i truly creeped out on was, sadly enough, the one part where you see a hypodermic needle slide into flesh. i hid my face on O.Penguin for that, but i was fine with the rest. It was a beautifully done movie on all counts. i LOVED it!

OK, i will stop trying to explain my illnesses and obsessions. And i will say i don't advocate random killing but death-for-bad-manners does have some small amout of fantasy merit. Eating them is another issue entirely that i don't want to discuss.

And, Jen, i STILL like the dolphin analogy. Even if that song is all kinds of weird and musically strange, i like the dolphin. There, i said it. : )

Go and listen to some Violent Femmes. Love them. They Raaaawk!
