i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
lovey stuff and dancing

Damn, this weekend was exhausting.

i worked Friday since i had Wednesday off and proceeded on to the club with Christine, met Russ and Mary out there, proceeded to get ill and sit out the night. Christine was fairly drunk and dancing her ass off, so i didn't push to leave or anything. All that was left of my 'ill' was the raging headache and i'm used to that so it didn't seem reason enough to spoil all her fun . . . and she is way too funny when she's out there on the platforms! i prefer to watch the dancers anyways ~ it's pretty cool to see how people interact and how funny they look dancing.

i was supposed to be over at my manager's house by 10 am or so, but i way overslept and got there at 2 pm. Cindy said no big deal. We ended up being a little late to Stumpy's wedding but it was because she forgot the map and directions and when we chose between 'Pipeline' and 'Precinct Line' we chose the wrong one and had to turn around and go back . . . twice. It was an ADVENTURE! The Wedding was lovely , the bride was beautiful, the groom was grinning like an idiot, the music was funky and my co-workers were buzzed and dancing! We had disposable cameras on every table so we could get random pictures during dinner and dancing and we made good use of them.

The Matron of Honor, Lizzy Borden's sister i think, had handed out keys to every man in the hall during dinner and in her toast she said, "Now, i was told that {Stumpy} said {Lizzy} could keep her boyfriend after they were married. Well, i don't think that's fair since i had to give mine up when i got married, so, every one with a key to Liz's place come up here and turn over your key right NOW!" Then all the men in the place hung their heads and shuffled up to reluctantly hand the key over and kiss the bride . . . the whole place went crazy! Since Lizzy is Ra's best friend, she was the last one up there to turn in her key ~ the crowd got even wilder and we yelled something about how Lizzy would just make another one! We were all laughing and teasing Stumpy (who works with me) that he would just have to buy a king size bed now since Ra would not fit in the queen with both of them and he'd get awfully tired of sleeping on the couch!

The best man had a good toast, too ~ he told the bride that when her husband does something wild and crazy that makes no sense to her, "Try, try, TRY to understand your husband." And to the groom? "NEVER try to understand your wife!"

After hearing about every little detail of this wedding for a year now ~ Ra was the wedding planner ~ it was great for all of us to see it done and over and to know that they were both so blissfully happy. i remember when he proposed on both knees with roses and a huge diamond ring . . . she smiled sweetly and said, "i'll think about it . . . " We almost beat her! They are truly blessed to have love AND laughter.

After the wedding Cindy and i went back to her house and ordered a pizza and watched some TV for a little bit and i skipped Rocky to home and sleep. But i couldn't. And i tried really hard. So NOW i'm tired. And at work. Aarrrrgggggg!
