i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
All in all you're just a . . .

i had a most pleasant surprise at work this morning! My favorite bald lady came up to see how we were all doing! Flo is just the greatest and she always made Saturdays fun to work on ~ we would end up buying a huge mess of ribs from Ken's Backyard BBQ and extra pickles and a box of fresh cut onions and we'd pig out. i hate BBQ. i don't eat ribs. they repulse me. BUT Ken's . . . it's better than most sex. It's more addicting than crack. it's . . . amazing.

Flo is also wonderful to talk to for hours. Very intelligent, real, gracious, and a true lady. i just love her to pieces! Sadly, she had to go on leave for health reasons and resigned when the release was not forthcoming.

i got the VCR hooked up last night and finally got to watch City of Angels. Yes, i know i lived a pathetic existence until now. i understand i am a heathen. i just saw From Dusk `Till Dawn this last week. i LOVED that movie!

City of Angels made me cry. i had to agree it was so unfair, but oh, so worth it. i thought i fell in love twice. i have a feeling i was wrong. Both times. i'd dearly love to know for sure. Just to KNOW would make anything worth it . . . i think.

i need more music. not 'want', 'NEED'. i need beautiful music and angry music. i need more fun and goofy music. And movies, too! i need a few more Disneys and some classics. Both Hepburns and the Hichcocks and Cary Grant and The Thin Man Series. i adore Myrna Loy. She could express more with a twist of the lips and a raised eyebrow than many modern actresses could say with a whole script. Skip the westerns (except The Three Godfathers and the one about the young boys that go on a cattle drive and become men that John Wayne did when he was a little older. that one was good. i loved the book, too. i think it was actually called The Cowboys but i'm not certain.) i OD'd on westerns ~ Mr. Wayne's in particular ~ growing up since Dad loves them so much. i need everything my man, John Malkovitch, was ever in, too. i know i'm obsessed. i don't care.

In some ways it's preferable to have me watch a movie rather than read the book. The book will take a few more hours and i am not nice when i'm reading ~ too focused and involved. Ask anyone ~ i get downright bitchy if i am disturbed.

OK, kids, i'm out for today. i'm off tomorrow and i have the show tomorrow night. i will post the info on the Tx D*land diary for those of you in the metroplex since this is your chance to see the best band in the whole world! i will have the two best little girls in the world this weekend (besides Roni) so you prolly won't see an update here until Sunday.

LOVE AND KISSES TO EVERYONE SINCE I'M IN A GREAT MOOD TODAY!
