i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

the long entry . . . .

Ok, ghouls and gorillas, here is the long run-down on my trip to the Land of Floresville . . .

i decided to stay on Wednesday night since i had some lovely company and by the time that person left i was confuzzled in the nicest way so i curled up and slept. i actually left at 9 am and was on the freeway after ice and breakfast of a mocha power bar and a mocha frappachino with my OJ on the ready for that first hour.

i made some good use of cruise control (except in the busy metropolises with stupid drivers and the construction EVERYWHERE) and made it here just south of San Antonio in five hours. i stepped out of my truck, into a bathing suit and hopped into the pool despite the lack of sunscreen and the fact that i already had a driving sunburn. It looks kinda funny to be striped like this . . .

Sarah and i went out to dinner at Chacho's (there was so much cilantro i could hardly breathe, but damn the food was AWESOME!) and then went to see Schrek (damn good movie!) and then we came back to the house and sat on the tailgate of my truck listening to the bugs and looking at the stars and talking to Joshy and Big Gay Al. Josh bailed and then Sarah and since i couldn't sleep and Al was desperate to NOT go home, we sat there and talked some more.

i was pretty angry when he left because he hurt Roni. For MY sake, i was relieved ~ he was going non-stop from the day he moved in with us till the afternoon i came home to the note on the door ~ i slept for a week and felt better, but Roni actually had a relationship with him and was devastated and thought he didn't love her anymore. i didn't let him off easy, but i didn't have the heart to roast him well over it, either. We got our differences out of the way and i listened to his latest disaster in the search for love, acceptance and happiness. i have to say i feel bad for him. He is NOT happy.

Friday i slept in till noon since i went to bed at 5 am. It felt GREAT.

Josh and i went to Sarah's parent's house when we got up and then all of us went out for dinner to the 50's style Denny's and had a great time. Sarah has two brothers living with her parents and two foster siblings, too, so there were a LOT of us. We forgot to grab X's bag and between the mess he made ON his diaper and the one he made IN it . . . we had to wrap him in a lot of paper towels, napkins, and a Koala Kare liner with a grocery bag under him for the trip back! He was very amused with the whole thing.

Today is Saturday and we slept in some and showered and have been very lazy all day. My right ankle and left leg are still sore from the basket-ball accident so i am moving slow and it's hot out here so no one wants to think too hard ~ you might break a sweat! We put X down for a short nap and watched Pulp Fiction and i was surprised ~ i actually liked it. i admit i was wrong. i liked that movie. It was interesting, to say the least.

We will prolly go to a BBQ at Sarah's parent's house in a few hours since her Nana is in town and i love Nana. She is one really cool lady. Some might say she's 'old' but they'd change their mind once they met her. Nana will never be 'old'.

i will be heading out tomorrow at about noon or so and be home in time to check my mail and goof off before work on Monday. Not to forget there IS a someone i will hopefully get to see for a few . . .
