i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

Green Apple Slush

i am so happy! i am a good grocery shopper!

i love my orange. i need to tell my orange how much i love it, and i think i can today. It's just so difficult to see dinnertime as an appropriate time to tell your orange that you love it. Then your orange may feel slighted or used since you love it when you're eating it but do you love it at other times, too? Do you love it when you think of it sitting there, on the counter? Do you love it when it's sitting there with a lot of other oranges? Would you be able to recognize your orange in a crowd? Your orange would then wonder if you will suddenly start fantasizing about lemons or limes or even a non-citrus of some sort . . .

i guess you can see how it might make your orange a little insecure as to your intentions if you profess a deep love of your orange during dinner.

And to Mr Dirty, i think there are truly some wonderful oranges out there and there is no such thing as 'too picky'. i have gone through a lot of bad oranges and lemons, peaches, bananas, pineapples and other fruits, nuts and vegetables and i have to say i was totally sick of the whole produce department. But then . . . there it was . . . on the soup isle . . . by the raman noodles, i think . . . and it was the perfect orange for me.

And now my orange will exact some sweet torturous revenge on me. And i will love it!
