i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

It's been a few days, huh? Funny thing ~ my days off seemed to have a life of their own and the stretch out to fill just as much space as a whole week and the rest of the week just sort of passes and fades back into a mellow happy haze. It's like i float through the less important bits and wake only for the good stuff. The only problem with this is i think i'm a pretty restless sleeper on the weekends. Or mayhap i'm always a restless sleeper and i only notice it on weekends . . . whatever. Either way ~ restless or not ~ i sleep better with the loveliest, cuddliest, sexiest, sweetest, most beautiful space heater beside me. Oh, and 'yummiest', too!

We ran all over town and had lots of fun the last two days and nights. Starting on Thursday night's Bennigan's and short visits with various friends.

Friday was a work day for him so i bummed around and goofed off most of the day and then went in to work to catch some e-mail and to see how my account was doing while i waited for him to get out of there. Then we met up at Russ's home for pool and beer fun and had a great time with Russ, Mary, Bridge, his lady, Nikki and her son, Blue. i picked up some BBQ sandwich stuff for everyone and we played Marco Polo for hours until i crushed Russ by declining to play another round (i was IT) and the game stopped there. There was some sitting, smoking, drinking, talking still going on but we all started packing up about then.

Saturday was a Lazy Day We got up late and watched Office Space and then deliberated for an hour on where to eat before making ourselves a system and choosing CiCi's. Next, he met Mom when i stopped by to talk to her for a few. Then we ran him home to get more clothes and stopped at Target to buy music for The Music Whore (me) and find him the new Static X CD. i was struggling to choose between the new Tricky BlowBack on sale and the Counting Crows' CD August and Everything After that i have been longing for when he grabbed them both and bought them for me. They are both beautiful in their own ways and i love them, but i love him more and i'd still love him more than any CD if he simply stood there and sang to me, but then we'd probably be laughing our asses off if he was standing somewhere singing to me . . .

He makes me laugh a LOT. i love that, too. i had a conference with all the 'voices' in my head and we are in total agreement on the Angelic One.

i know, i have broken all the 'bitter angry bitch' rules and so i will be booted from the club, but i'm just so damned happy . . .

After Target we went to Farmer Crusty's birthday party ~ too many people in too small a space but great food and decent music . . . it was a pretty successful little gathering. We left a little early and stayed up too late watching Dennis Leary's "Lock and Load", but it was funny as hell and i like the time we spend together better than the time we spend anywhere else with anyone else (though, i'd have to say time we spend with Russ & Mary is a close second because i love them so much, too!)

You know what really freaks me out? i don't wake up pissed off and grumpy when he's there.

"i've never been so colourfully-see-through-head before
i've never been so wonderfully-me-you-want-some-more
And all i want is to keep it like this
you and me alone, a secret kiss
And don't go home, don't go away
Don't let this end, please stay
. . .
Not just for today.
