i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

Round here . . .

note!
i forgot to post Sunday as i was in a hurry to get to the party!
here it is . . .

Thursday at Russ' was a comfortable, family-like night where we all did our own things, single, paired, all together and otherwise, just hanging `round the house and happy to all be together. Mary, Roni and i went to the store and bought some dinner, i cooked and baked a pie that we ate happily and there was reading, television, and computer. When we were at the store, Mary complained that the guys at work would never let her read Maxim since it was a 'MEN'S magazine' so i decided to buy it . . . we were at the scan-it-yourself register and i scanned everything else but it would not let me buy that magazine! It would scan and then credit, scan and credit ~ THREE TIMES! After trying a few more times to get the magazine to go i gave up and Mary bagged it and we kept it. i TRIED, i SWEAR! Mary thinks you have to insert penis to purchase the damn thing, but i didn't see where on the register you'd put one . . .

Friday was rushed, happy, sad and fun all at once. It was a perfectly dreary day with perfectly dreary weather and horridly nasty traffic all over. i picking up Roni in the rain at her bus stop (the bus was late) and drove like mad to try to get to the funky-mangled homestead (i was late) and we had to throw my new futon in the back of the soaking wet truck ~ in the rain ~ along with the fourteen assorted bags and boxes the ladies were taking with them and try to get to the station on time (we didn't make it). Just as we were trying to decide whether or not to drop off the futon or the ladies first The Punk Doll says, "Well, if we don't make it there in time, we can catch it in Fort Worth ~ we have, like, a three hour layover there . . ." and i screamed, "WELL FUCK IT! Well feed you dinner, say our good-byes, and drop you off out there!" and turned the truck in. We unpacked quicker than we loaded but it was still in the rain. We all had dinner together at Bennigan's and re-packed the truck to the sounds of Sublime with Roni on backup and took them off to the bus station in Fort Worth. Damn, i'm gonna miss them!

Saturday was slow and steady, a little frustrating (the girl) but pretty mellow and happy overall. We walked to Casa Jose's for breakfast and then home, went shopping at Target ( bought sleep pants me, a sweater, shoes, and sleep pants for Roni) and then dropped her off at Darth Mom's. Next, i showed him the wonders of The Festival Mall and finally, we went home for dinner and a movie.

Tonight, after work, we have a surprise party to go to and i have to stop at home to shower and change first and i still need a gift for her. i wanted to get a picture frame since she is always getting Taylor's picture done or this rock & water garden with floating candles but i couldn't remember what colors and metals were in her living room and i knew Taylor would immediately knock over the pretty bowl with sand, rocks, water, and fire in it. Any kid would . . . i mean, with MY luck, i may beat her to it!

Tomorrow, i get to meet my Angel's Mom and Step-dad . . . i'm not too scared, but i am a little nervous. Roni is not going on this trip. i think meeting the 'older woman' you son is seeing is occasion enough without adding her almost-seven-year-old daughter into the mix immediately.

Round here we stay up very very late . . .
