We went to see 8 Mile last night and i have to admit, it was awesome. i loved it. i mean, i was interested in seeing it but not completely insane over it like some people. i went in with an open mind and watched the movie. i loved it.
i have never really listened to his music and i'm not what you would call a 'fan'. i like the songs i've heard and think that he has an admirable amount of talent; what with the way he flows his scansion, his vocabulary, and the wholeness of his rhyme. You think anyone can do it until the first time you sit down to write a song and devise a good hook. Yeah, then you see who da little beotch is and who yo Daddy be.
Sorry, i got a little carried away there. Anyways, i also admire his style and the fact that he doesn't wimp out or back down from the subjects other people will. He will insult the shit out of any and every one equally unless he respects you, then he'll tell the truth. i think that's a little refreshing.
All-in-all it was a great movie and we liked it, though i do have to tell you that the whole thing is like John Hughes went ghetto with a hip-hop brat pack. It also has a surprisingly strong anti-gun feel to it and quite a few funny spots.
As for the rest of my weekend, Ronica had a perfect week, Angel and i had dinner with Glorianna last night and then Dez And his Roni stopped by the house, and i walked my ass off on the treadmill today and then did those reverse sit-ups on the machine thingy in the gym. i'm tired and i need to go to bed, now, so don't forget to go post your Email Jokes & Spam because i made the diary look so pretty!
