i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

it's late, but here i am.

this last week was weird.

Let me think, Friday i worked, coming home with a massive headache and missing dinner at a friend's to just sit here and play with the Hoyle Suite of card games because i wanted to die but could not sleep. Saturday i worked and went to see a movie with Angel because he won free tickets. we didn't use the free tickets because the line was freakishly long and the mall was packed. we didn't want to miss the movie.

We watched the new XXX - State of the Union and *Spoiler alert!* Vin Diesel is NOT coming back to that enterprise because you learn he's dead in the first 10 minutes. i'm not saying this is permanent dead, but it seems unlikely any self-respecting series is going to have a bunch of supposedly dead and retired ex-main characters on ice waiting for a sudden resurrection if the numbers slip. Especially a guy series. we all know that the dead only come back in Horror and Soap Operas.

Sunday was Mother's day and i woke up a little late but still managed to meet Mom, Brat, and The Ronica at Cheddar's for lunch. after that, we gathered up all Mom's books under the bed, in bags, in boxes, and generally scattered everywhere and took the lot of them to Half Price Books. Now, i told her it was ok, and to calm down, but she got screwed. royally. at the same time, i got them out of the house and i wasn't about to bring them back. for one box and two large boutique style shopping bags she only got $27. some were a little older, but almost all were released within the last year and all were in perfect condition. most of them didn't even look read. oh, well, it's $27 and a LOT of room that she didn't have before. while we were gone, Brat cleaned up what was left and now Dad can open the back door in his room that had been barricaded by three feet of junk. he's happy and in turn will make mom happy again.

After we got back, i made Linguini with Clam Sauce and it was tasty. we played a few rounds of Mexican Train and i came home.

Monday night my neighbor died. She had a heart condition and has been pretty sick with pneumonia brought on by allergens, but we thought she'd been getting better. she had been over talking and visiting just the other day. The Ronica was really shook because she was the one that looked out for her in the afternoon and gave her a place to go and a person to talk to when she was home alone. i will miss her. she was a really nice lady who was lonely all the time and i wish i'd spent some more time with her.

i am still looking for a new job and i've been doing phone interviews and online tests but i haven't heard back on anything solid yet.

i am going to go now and further my Canasta Master career.
