i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
spring break has broken

i have this habit of 'putting the cart before the horse', so to speak. in fact, i do this so very much that my horse is kinda used to pushing rather than pulling.

poor horse.

this week we watched Children of Dune in the SciFi channel for three nights and then went and bought Dune and watched that three disc set for three nights due to my overwhelming need to push, to dig, to KNOW everything i can about everything i have the least passing interest in.

it makes for a good game of Trivial Pursuit . . .

i love the movies and i am anxious to find out if they will finish Leto, Ghanima, and Farad'n story line. They already skipped the conversation where Leto explains to Farad'n that Ghani will marry her brother but will keep Farad'n as her consort and the father of her children even as he stays on in the official capacity as the royal scribe. and don't forget they are cousins, but only by marriage, and their maternal aunt was the actual wife of Paul Muad'dib, the twin's father. this family has a thing about only breeding with their consorts . . . hell, the real kicker is that through Farad'n and Gahni 's line, the three main royal houses' blood will continue - the house Corrino and Atreides are obvious, but the Harkonnen runs through the twins from their fraternal grandmother, the Lady Jessica. as part of the Bene Gesserit breeding program, she was taken from her parents and didn't know until much later that her father was the Fat Baron Harkonnen. It wasn't until after Paul came back from the spice trance that she learned the truth, though Alia knew already. The eight year old Alia even taunted the Baron with it right before she killed him. too bad she didn't kill the Bene Gesserit Reverend Mother while she had the chance - she might have saved herself from The Abomination if she had.

ok, so, yeah, i have the books, too.

and i know i'm a geek.

today was a lazy day of sleeping in and moving slowly all about the metroplex. Angel and i stopped almost everywhere there were animals and petted them, we wandered shops and looked at random stuff, bought a few trinkets at a sale and had dinner at Ton's Mongolian Grill. after dinner we drove a wandering path about Arlington looking at houses and discussing the positives and negatives of certain streets and neighborhoods. now, we are home and The Ronica was just dropped off and has run to Almendra's firstly as she missed her so very much.
