i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

from "a murder of one" ~ counting crows
"And baby said . . . Dance magic, dance!"

10am
Hey, nothing really interesting happened during our 'work week'.

Well, not much, at least.

OK, fine, i am wrong.

Let's see . . .

Last Friday the 7th
Friday was a very mellow day. After work, i finished a book i was reading while Angel played on his computer. After i was done with the book, we went up to Pokey's Place, a new biker bar. The reason we were there is Angel works with Rhonda. Rhonda is a real sweetheart who recently woke up one morning and decided she was sick of her husband's shit. She was a biker's wife with a bitchy stripper for a daughter and no one respected her. i worked with her, too and completely adore her, cause she is just so cool, upbeat, smart, and has a dry and sarcastic sense of humor, all while being one of the genuinely nicest people i have ever met. So, anyways, she left her husband and refused to come back. She got all her stuff and moved into a boarding house (yep, they DO still exist!) and started living her OWN life. She hooked up with the guy who owned the boarding house and he treats her like a queen. He bought a bar and named it after himself, hence, Pokey's Place, and it was Pokey's birthday that night, so we were there to support Rhonda and the guy who treats her so well.

We stayed two hours and came home to conk.

Saturday and Sunday the 8th & 9th
We worked. Really. We also went to see Undercover Brother and it was too funny, i loved it.

Monday the 10th
More work. i was in pain and miserable so i left early to go to the chiropractor but picked up my Roni first. i missed her so much . . . Myste is still pregnant and they know it will be another boy. i got to see Sarah and Alexis when i picked my girl up! i got to brush their lovely hair and cuddle with them and tell them i loved them a lot . . . i miss that. i regained about 50% movement after the chiropractor, although i do tend to stiffen up too easy still. Dez came over for dinner and we went to Ton's Mongolian Grill and he LOOOOVED it!

Tuesday 11th
We had Roni and we played.

The Doctor appointment was with a normal doctor and he says i have gained too much weight. The pee tests were inconclusive, so they are doing a full-on blood work up on me. FOUR VIALS OF MY BLOOD! The fiendish bloodsucker took FOUR VIALS! i was tough! i was strong! i was . . . stretched as far as i could be in the other direction, whimpering, shaking, and hyperventilating while Angel held my face in his hands and kissed me a lot while whispering that he loved me. Sorry. Any one who has ever seen me around the 'N' things would know that WAS strong and tough for me. Anyways, the doc wanted to discuss the results and the plan with me 'next week'.

Roni took this time to hang out with Brat and go shopping. We picked her up and went to Angel's dad's house for dinner. Niki, his step mom, had never met Roni and so it was a 'finally!' kind of moment for the two of them. They got along like Sour Cream and Onion; it was a meant to be! When we got home, Roni's friends were still up and wanted her to come over for a slumber party and i let her.

Wednesday the 12th
Angel, Roni and i went randomly shopping. Then we went to my parents and made dinner there, too. We didn't get out until late but we planned out her next visit on the way out to her dad's.

Thursday
We worked, it was uneventful.

Friday
There was more work and then i surprised Angel. i called him on the way home and asked him to meet me at Jason's Deli for dinner right then and since i got there a little sooner that i told him i would, i picked up a pair of tickets for Scooby Doo and wouldn't tell him what his surprise was until after we ate and had our Marble slab cones, too! He was happy and we wandered around for a bit and then sat in the lobby and played with our phones and looked like the geeks we really are but still got first pick of seats. i was so pissed when these four kids and their goofy mom sat right behind us and i was seriously plotting to tell them i enjoy eating obnoxious kids for dinner when they finally shut the hell up to watch the movie. After it started, i was impressed that it was remarkably calm through the whole move for a theater full of kids. i loved the movie, i thought it was funny, but Angel was less than enchanted. He said he liked it enough, but it wasn't amazing. Oh well, at least we get to go see Lilo & Stitch next week with Roni!

Saturday and Sunday
The supposed 'weekend' that isn't for US was uneventful and kinda normal. Just dinner as early as possible and moving about to avoid going home until we absolutely have to as another way we have tried to slightly alter our lifestyle to help lose some weight.

Monday
More work and then we had our friend from work, Dez, over for dinner and just to re-affirm his first impression, we went back to Ton's. Dinner was nice and then we came home and watched The Jackal and he loved that, too . . . i figured he would and that's why i picked it.

Tuesday and Wednesday
We went back to the medical doc and he confirmed and expounded on his voicemail that i was not sick or pregnant and that he wanted me to take some diet pills and also try to induce a period so they can start me on birth control pills. This way i don't have the random but evil periods (in theory) so he gave me some prescriptions and then weighed me to find i've already lost about 5 pounds. Just by making some small alterations like eating early and not going straight home, just walking around for a while and window shopping or getting a cone and wandering as we slowly eat them. Then, i also try to eat better for breakfast and lunch and if i snack, i go for the fruit rather than the chocolate frosted chocolate Zingers . . . it's those little things that count, right? At least they add up quick.

After the doc, we went out to Irving for the chiropractor and stopped at Chili's for lunch and then walked about the shopping centers until the office opened. The battery went dead and we had to get jumped to get to the AutoZone across the street from home where Angel replaced the battery and things are great again. Then we decided to go walk at the River Legacy Park and so we did. A couple of energy bars and a bottle each of Sobe later, we hiked all the unpaved trails at a reasonable swift pace for an hour and then came back to our water and went home to shower and get to bed.

This morning we had a quick breakfast and stopped at the bank then went over to the Mom Internet Cafe, Theater, Pool, and Laundry Facility to get the wash done and goof off. We made samiches for lunch and watched Bandits which i thoroughly recommend as an awesome movie. Then i helped paint some until the shaking in my hands became so bad that i was making mistakes. Now, i am here, trying to make sense of this week-long hodgepodge of an entry so i can post it and you won't be all, like, "Where are you? Come BACK to us! Oh, PLEASE give us back our mis!" and i won't be so, like, "No."

Now i have to go to bed, kiddies! Tomorrow, i have another long walk after work and i need some rest!
