i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

i want some Chinese Chicken Pizza!

Today started out nice. Due to yesterday's sleep and despite staying up late with my baby, i was up early and showering before i woke Roni for school. i fed her and took her and the downstairs neighbor kid, Darius, to school. When i got back i checked mail - NOTHING - and settled in on a very deliciously rainy day to read.

i finished the book i started late Wednesday after my Dad's birthday dinner and started back up with Xenocide, the third in the Ender Wiggins series by Orson Scott Card. The first was good, the second a little rich, but this one is downright heavy and slow. Since the latest Laurell K Hamilton isn't out yet, i also got Children of the Mind. i certainly hope this one starts moving a little faster soon. If it doesn't i will have to kick The Tick the next time i see him for hooking me on this series. Like any dealer, he gave the first taste away - 'a freebie', if you will - and now the monkey has climbed up and fit me for a damn bridle!

Speaking of 'freebies' and we were . . . Miss Meredith loves her new template that it getting similar rave reviews from all her readership! And to think i started with a picture and a song quote! All of it was done in one day too!

i'm very excited by her design in particular as it is only the second custom i have really done and that makes it special to me. i have some other great ideas in black and white that have made me giddy - i think i'll stop putting up designs. i have a few that are up for the taking and all, but i think i'll just leave the rest as non-published until they are requested. Partly due to the unexpected template thief of recent notoriety but mostly due to the fact that i like to make customs more. It excites me to impose that deadline and start working within certain boundaries.

Tonight was weird. Angel was in a shitty mood when he got home so he sat silently and sullen-looking in front of his computer and we just let him be. Roni was supposed to be picked up by 5:30pm, but they didn't show up until almost 9pm thus making to too late to go get any dinner. We were just waiting . . . waiting . . . waiting forever for them to get here. By the time she left, Angel was so past hungry, he was crashing hard and fell asleep on the couch. At this stage, i can't take him anywhere and i can't try to move him - he's bigger than me and would only end up hurting me if he fell or passed out. At the same time, i can't FORCE him to eat.

We were contemplating ordering in but it got late and he never could decide what he wanted before he fell asleep.
