i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

confounded logic

Monday was pretty good - i did a day trade with myself so that i was off on Monday and worked on Wednesday. that way, i could be here for The Ronica's first day of school. i slept in, got her off to school, slept a bit more, took her lunch, and goofed off for a while.

when she got home, we went shopping with The Bad Boy to Fry's Electronics for a new TV so i could get a DVD player. i called him because electronics are his LIFE and he'd know what the hell the brands were and what all the geek-speak was about. i don't.

by the time we left, i had purchased a DVD/VCR combo, a lot of wires and widgets, a vacuum, three drinks, a spindle of CDRs and Thir13en Ghosts. he hooked the new gadget to the stereo and the TV i have as the combo has an RF sockety thingy (thanks to the VCR)and most DVD players don't. my TV only has the RF sockety thingy. Now i can save up MORE money and buy a REALLY good TV instead of working with only $300 for all three components. i just went with it. we tested it all out with Lilo & Stitch.

Tuesday. Tuesday The Ronica strolled into school at 11:15 AM winning herself an unexcused absence on the second day of school and nearly giving me a heart attack. we went to bed early that night.

Tonight was Wednesday, Rachel night. we did homework, goofed off and painted The Ronica's nails blue after i filed them down a LOT. after Rachel got here, we three went to dinner at DragonWood and then bought a few more movies: Ghost Ship, Igby Goes Down, and 13 Conversations About One Thing. i have wanted to see Ghost Ship for a while, i heard the first scene alone is totally worth the price. Igby Goes Down came highly recommended and 13 Conversations About One Thing looked really good all five times i picked it up in the last two weeks - i just couldn't get away from it even though i got a whole Magnolia vibe from it. i loved that movie . . . Abby let me borrow it when i herniated the disk in my lower back so i was a captive audience and had all the time to focus. it was awesome.

i love all kinds of movies but i mostly like scary, creepy, thriller, and whacko movies. and indie films. you find such wonderful things when you let someone just go nuts and do what they dreamed up last week or what the voices in their heads say they envisioned. Quentin Tarantino really IS a boy-genius turned demi-god. i will own all his movies in the director's cut, if available.

did you hear that Robert Rodriguez is going to do a third film to cap off El Mariachi & Desperado? it's called Once Upon a Time in Mexico and comes out i'm excited, i want them, too.

i am on a binge. i need an intervention. please help me! i have run out of books to read and have moved back into the movies! Blockbuster is selling the Previously Viewed movies for sale price + 25% off! i'm saving a LOT of money buying RIGHT NOW!

don't ask.
