i dreamt i saw you walking
up a hillside in the snow
casting shadows on the winter sky
as you stood there counting crows
one for sorrow, two for joy,
three for girls, and four for boys,
five for silver, six for gold, and
seven for a secret never to be told

there's a bird that nests inside you
sleeping underneath your skin
when you open up your wings to speak
i wish you'd let me in

"We just saw it from a different point of view"

Hi

: )

Today was fairly bland, so let me back up a few.

Friday, Angel came home early and gave me a reason to grin all day. He is so beautifully snuggly! Then we cleaned out the rat cages and all their furniture and dipped them. My arm is finally healing. See, my boys and i had a difference of opinion. The first time they got the little bugs i couldn't figure out where or what brought them. We bathed them and shaved the poor darlings and it was a traumatic experience that left them a little leery of people picking them up. They still love to be stroked and petted and will play with us but they do not enjoy being held.

This time the only thing that had changed in the cage was the new roll-a-nest. The first time i had recently bought a roll-a-nest. Well, this time i went and found the special dip that is safe for even small kittens and puppies and covered fleas, ticks AND mites. i try not to bathe them very often as i have the only rats in existence that just don't like to swim. i only used the 'regular' Clinique beauty bar and only do it if i'm introducing someone. Well, i did the dipping gently over the bowl with a soft sponge and they were not too happy to be held OR sponged. My left arm looked like i got into an attack with a cactus. Not their fault, though, they were just holding on the only way they know how. The good news is that the bugs are all gone and they are happy again.

Saturday, Angel and i had Hooters for dinner. Wait. Let me explain that a little. We went to Hooters for dinner and ate boobs on buns. The boobs were chicken and battered, the buns were soft and round. There was even a gooey white cheese melted on them both. i won't even go anywhere with the springy nest of curly brown fries. Promise!

We were planning on catching a movie but dinner was enough and we simply went home.

You've already read about Sunday night.

Monday we had dinner at the Chinese restaurant right down the road. Nothing big happened.

Tuesday (today) was long but hurried. There were a few lagging spots but over all the worst was the one and a half hour call with this raving lunatic who thinks we owe her money when we don't but since someone told her we would give her money we had to. The Tick had to come fix it and he was the one who found the note i looked for but couldn't find. it was the same size and looked quite like a system note and was very easy to overlook. He took it over as she kept requesting a super from word one and was asking for about $450 in credit. Can i just tell you how much it chaffed to give this woman all that unwarranted credit when she's never paid a bill on time and has over TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in credit over the last year? All because someone got sick of her talking and caved. The woman - honestly, she didn't BREATHE!

Anyways, we got rid of her and that was over and the day rolled swiftly down from there. i came home and we had dinner at Golden Corral because Ronica and her best friend, Almenda, wanted to and it was kids night so we fed them both for the price of one. Almenda is truly a sweetie and we always love taking her with us where ever we go. She has a single mom and is Black/Hispanic mix so she's really quiet striking and lovely to see. She is also very sunny and polite and fun to be around and seems to really love being here with us which is fine with all of us and convenient as she lives two doors down. In the last few months they have gotten so close that we pretty much trade them back and forth as a single being and there are tearful goodbyes when they are forced to part. It's actually kinda cute.

i wanted to go to The Ranch tomorrow for my day, but we can't find a babysitter. i think we are going to Abby and Louis's new casa to just chill and drink and talk and be adults together which is a novelty around here. But i still don't have a babysitter. i dont know what to do.

Angel forgot to order my carrot cake. i was looking forward to it, but that's ok. He says it might be late, but he will get me one. It is being made by the best carrot cake baker in the world - his buddy Don who is a cool Canadian despite his great flapping head. He used to own his own bakery in Canada.

i'm feeling blue now. Tangled and blue. Tangled up in blue. Speaking of blue . . .

"Tangled Up in Blue" ~ Bob Dylan
"She was workin' in a topless place
And i stopped in for a beer,
i just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
i's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't i know your name?"
i muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
i must admit i felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"i thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.
